COVID-19 Telemedicine UPDATE
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Eastover Psychological & Psychiatric Group of the Carolinas will be providing exclusively telemedicine services to our established patients as of Monday, March 23, 2020 and lasting for two weeks through Friday, April 3, 2020.
Though we will still be here answering the phones and conducting telemedicine visits, the office will not be open for any in-person visits.
Since we are not able to conduct new patient evaluations via telemedicine, this unfortunately means that we will need to cancel and postpone any new patient evaluations during this time. We will work with you to reschedule when we are able to.
We are using doxy.me, a secure and HIPAA-compliant video-conferencing service, for these visits. There is nothing to sign up for and no account to create. You will receive a text message at or around your appointment time with a link to your clinicians' "virtual waiting room." You can either follow that link to begin on your smartphone, or you can copy that link to the browser on your tablet, laptop, or computer if you prefer. You will be asked to sign in. Then when your clinician is ready, you will be connected.
Of note, this service is clearly under a huge surge of use over the last week, and there have been some hiccups. Sometimes the text message with the link doesn't send. In this case, we will simply call you and read out the link. Also, If the connection is poor, or your camera/mic isn't working, don't worry. We can switch over to an old-fashioned telephone call if we need to.
Stay safe, and check back to this website for more updates.
